ARE YOU OUT OF TUNE WITH GOD'S WILL FOR YOU ?
HISTORY OF HYMN
The first paragraph below is from wikipedia.org/
Have thine own way, Lord. "In 1902, Adelaide A. Pollard, a Bible teacher and hymn writer, was hoping to go to Africa
as a missionary but found herself unable to raise the needed funds to make the journey. Greatly discouraged, she attended
a prayer service one evening and as she sat there, she overheard an elderly woman say "It really doesn't matter what
you do with us, Lord, just have your own way with our lives." The elderly woman inspired Pollard and she contemplated
the story of the potter from Jeremiah 18:3 and, upon her return home that evening, wrote all four stanzas before retiring
for the night. Five years later George Stebbins wrote a tune titled "Adelaide" to accompany the text."
Thoughts by Frank Henrich Have you
not heard the newly on-fire Christian say Lord, I want to do great things for You. This is what I think we can do together.
Then boldly that person strives to complete that task. When he or she fails, there is a time of rethinking how one works
for God. Another project is attempted with the verbal expression, "Surely, God will bless this project."
After stumbling along, our on-fire Christian learns the lesson that God does not bless our wishes or claims with spiritual
intervention and power. Slowly we learn over time that we need to listen to the Spirit of God and when He directs us we inwardly
know its source. Then we prayer for confirmation and let God develop the circumstances that make such a project
successful. We must always remember we are His hands and feet and be humbles and meek that God has chosen us to do some
of his work. To be the little rain drop in His ministries! I wrote a poem called "I Am The Lord's Raindrop."
I hope it helps you to know your place and always give God the credit for without His power nothing of value spiritually
is done.

do You not provide?
HYMN HAVE YOUR OWN WAY, LORD!
Words By Adelaide Pollard (1862-1934)
Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way!
Thou art the Potter, I am the clay. Mold me and make me after Thy will,
While I am waiting, yielded and still.
Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way! Search me and try me, Master, today! Whiter than snow, Lord, wash me just now, As in Thy presence humbly I bow.
Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way! Wounded and weary, help me, I pray! Power, all power, surely is Thine! Touch me and heal me, Savior divine.
Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way! Hold o’er my being absolute sway! Fill with Thy Spirit ’till all shall see Christ only, always, living in me.

A most excellent book and one I recommend most highly.
I AM THE LORD’S RAINDROP
I’m
a raindrop trying my best To nourish for You, Lord, hungry souls, When I think of the vastness of Your power I am lost in the failure to
fathom Your awesomeness.
You know the minds of millions of persons, You know their thoughts and actions,
You send Your love to each one, You desire that each one seeks to adore You.
How can I even
image such a powerful love? And then to add to this You created us, While all You want of us is to love
You and serve While living a life of obedience to Your word.
Oh, how my mind goes into a whirl
with all this, And then You ask me to be a raindrop Nourishing souls with your heavenly knowledge, Drawing back to You the weary ones.
Humbled as I am, I say, who me Lord? You want me to
be a rain-drop for You? Then let Your grace of power ignite me And show me where my rain-drop is to fall.
Put a lake behind me to draw from And let the drops fall, and fall, and fall. Lord please take
me (insert your name) your servant, Give me the mission and power to be Your raindrop.
