H E A V E N
- This September night I thought – most Christians do not have a picture of
Heaven. Ask them to describe Heaven and they are vague. As important as this destination is to a Christian, we ought to be
able to describe it. So I sat down at the cmputer with the following results. Here are my thoughts in a Heaven poem.

Heaven Poem - Heaven
Gate
Can you hear the bells ringing?
Is your heart singing with joy?
Are you surrounded by beauty,
So breathtaking?
Is peace so invading your being,
That every passing moment
Is so wonderful and grand,
That all anxiety has evaporated?
Can this be Heaven?
Could I daydream of your delights?
Hoping with a new insight
To fathom some of your splendors?
Must I feel sad
When thinking of Heaven?
No! No! never,
I must not be afraid.
The colors are so peaceful,
So vibrant and fluorescent,
Yet, with a flowing softness
Of interweaving hues.
Oh! My eyes dazzle at their splendor,
No color on Earth reaches their
greatness,
Even a flower garden in full bloom
Is an inferior imitation.
Is this where
my faith
Will lead me?
Does my hope focus on reaching
These Heavenly shores?
Oh! Yes, but even more,
For all their beauty,
For all their peace and joy
My soul does desire.
Yet, this beauty is for serving,
Not to be served,
For in its midst is a greater glory,
For my God dwells here.
So my hope is not for the bells,
Not even for the colors
and peace,
But there I will be with my God
In all His serenity.
But it is hard for me
To picture in my mind,
The glory of His presence,
Though earnestly, I seek.
I believe Jesus allows us
To see a bit of our Heaven,
While still here on Earth,
To encourage us along.
You say, “You have not seen,
Not even just a bit.”
Have you asked Jesus to show you?
Why don’t you ask?
For I believe that God will share
And when He does,
What a delight!
A real hope booster.
But most importantly,
It serves to rekindle our hope,
When life’s purposes seems lost,
Our view of Heaven,
gives us hope.

The life of Saint Peter is one to study about Christian
death. For we must prepare for our Christian death so Saint Peter provides us a good example.
