AROUND THE TABLE
By Mary Henrich Doria
Thanksgiving Day 2010
There is
a place brighter than a star,
But this place is close, not very far,
There is a place that shines in
the night,
The world may be dark,
But our hearts are bright.
Around the table,
Laden with steaming platters,
Our faces shine,
For we know what truly matters.
With clasped hands and bowed heads,
We thank God for our daily bread,
We thank God for the love of family and friend,
We thank God that His love never ends.
Around the table,
As the candles glow,
Our hearts are knit together,
For we surely know,
That when we part,
Wherever we go,
The grace of God will always follow,
And in
our hearts we'll carry the light
Like
a shining star in the darkest night.
