LIVING IN CHRISTIAN LOVE

HAVE A NEW LIFE WITH JESUS BY PUTTING A STOP TO THE SIN DEATH ACTS OF YOUR HUMAN NATURE - READ BELOW:

LETTER WRITTEN IN 250 A.D.,  A CHRISTIAN DESCRIBES A TRANSFROMED NEW LIFE IN CHRIST.  Read Below:   |

T
he scene in a garden in Carthage, North Africa. It is the middle of the third century of the Christian era and a middle- aged man, Cyprian by name is writing to his friend Donatus. This is what he says: "This seems a cheerful world, Donatus, when I view it from this fair garden under the shadow of these vines.  But if I climbed some great mountain and looked out over the wide wide lands you know very well what I would see.  Brigands on the high roads, pirates on the seas, in the amphitheatres men murdered to please applauding crowds, under all roofs misery and selfishness. It is really a bad world, Donatus, an incredibly bad world. Yet in the midst of it I found a quiet and holy people. They have discovered a joy which is a thousand times better than any pleasure of this sinful life.   They are despised and persecuted but they care not.  They have overcome the world.  These people, Donatus, are the Christians - and I am one of them."

The Historian Edward S. Kepler wrote in his book A Journey with the Saints in 1963, his comments on Cyprian's letter as follows: "Seventeen centuries have passed since Cyprian wrote those words. The problem of living have become more complex, for a machine age and global war seem to make "brigands on the high roads" and "pirates on the seas" rather small evils; yet the Christian today believes that he has a way to meet twentieth-century problems as virtually as did Cyprian in the third century.  Christianity has not become outmoded, as a way of living it has remained vital and fresh. Jesus' insights, when properly interpreted, have shown the Christian 'the way, and the truth, and the life' for every century."

Now it is the twenty-first century and for your editor, Frank Henrich, going to the mountain tops is the turning on the network news of the nation and world with its minute to minute description of mankind's acts of cruelty in this evil world.  I limit my contact with this information to only the need to know for it can only disturb the inner peace life of a devout on fire Christian. Who wants to go to the mountain top to see the evil world?

A NEW LIFE WITH JESUS POEM

         LIFE TRANSFORMED

Can you and I have a transformed life
From our human nature that drives us
To acts of jealousy, greed and cruelty?
The answer is yes, just read below.

Tonight, I watched a documentary
On the people of the Roman empire
During the first century AD years,
Which reminded me of man's cruelty.

Oh where can I live safely from evil?
From the twisted human nature of man?
A human nature that seeks to control
The thoughts and actions of mankind.

I view my own existence and say
How fortunate I am able to live now
Especially in the USA, my country,
Grabbing a breath, I say, “Stay as you are!”

Would I want to live in other times?
No, for it would not save me
From the ruthlessness of mankind
Unbridled in its push for control and fame.

My inner spirit says hide in obscurity,
Make no waves from my cocoon,
Pray for peace in my close family
And for a new Christian human nature.

Which comes only when I acknowledge
Jesus as our Lord and Savoir,
Then my old cruel nature is covered
Over with a new nature of love service.

How about your life, my reader?
Do you have this transformed life?
Are your thoughts and action peaceful?
Does living in Christ’s life enfold you?

This spiritual nature that overrides
The nature you were born with as a baby,
But do not fool yourself and wonder
For it will not come, where sin lives.

You can quote verses of the Bible proclaiming
Your servant hood to Jesus Christ,
But if you have habitual sin abiding in you,
This new spiritual nature can not reside.

This new spiritual nature works so easily
Because it overrides your old nature
Causing you to have thoughts and desires
Pleasing to God our Creator and Lord.

Once you have tasted this wonderful
Life of living with renewed desires,
You will hanker to never lose it again
But if sin fills your life it will depart.

So down on your knees you go pleading and
Confessing your sins to Almighty God saying
Forgive me Lord and return to me Your Spirit
And in sudden stillness, you are revived.

Is this experience of living with God's
Spirit Embedded in our life a new thing?
Could Christopher Columbus &Abraham Lincoln
Have had this new nature so many years ago?

Oh yes, it's not new but must be sought after!
Would you recommend that others seek it?
Yes, seek this transformed Christian nature,
Let it fill your life with new thought desires.

So if you do not have this new spiritual nature
Given by God through Jesus and the Holy Spirit
Seek it with all your might, cleaning out sin
And God will soon transform your mind.

Oh men of the sinful world of greed and cruelty
I may have to share a life with you
But in my life there will be inner peace
And I can live above your ego motives.
