CHRISTIAN POEMS AND DEVOTIONALS FOR THE SEARCHING AND WEARY
HUMOROUS CHRISTIAN POEM - VISUALIZE YOURSELF OLD BODY YOUNG AGAIN

HOW DO I VISUALIZE MYSELF?

When from sleep I rose this morning,
Sitting on my bed with feet flung,
I did think a profound question,
  How do I visualize myself?

Am I an eighty year old man
With little hair and a bent body
Whose body is scared with much life,
  How do I visualize myself?

Oh no! In my wonderful mind
  I am a twenty-nine year old,
Man fresh and full of energy,
  How do I visualize myself?

Others may see what they do see
But I do not care, for you see
I never lost my 29 year body
  That's how I visualize myself?

When I plan my day each morning
I think how can my young body
Fulfill daily fun and life duties
  That's how I visualize myself.

What you say? "You are an old man!"
When my Lord Jesus I will see
On those great Heavenly shores
Yes, I will be young in body.

The Holy Spirit lives in me
So with ever so much joy and love
I could not live as an old man
  That's how I visualize myself.

Where Has Time Gone?

Where has time gone? Do you know?
Where can it be found?
Has it hidden behind your ear
Like a magician’s coin, so round?

Has it taken your car for a ride?
Has it gone down the street?
If I should run after it, will we ever meet?
Is it pouting in a corner, hiding its face?

Is it running ahead like a sprinter in a race?
Is it lagging behind and moving slowly out of pace?
Oh, me, oh, my,
I wonder where my time has gone.

Has it gone into the grandfather’s watch,
Just ticking on and on?
Has it gone into my favorite book,
Waiting for me to take a look?

If I put on sunglasses, will I see it better?
Oh, me, oh, my, it has gone forever.
Now I must sit down and cry,
For time has gone and said, “Good-bye.”

From the Bible: Old Testament: Ecclesiastes Chapter 3 Verses 1 through 13.

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under Heaven.

A time to be born and a time to die,
A time to plant and a time to uproot,
A time to kill and a time to heal,
A time to tear down and a time to build,

A time to weep and a time to laugh,
A time to mourn and a time to dance,
A time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
A time to embrace and a time to refrain,

A time to search and a time to give up,
A time to keep and a time to throw away,
A time to tear and a time to mend,
A time to be silent and a time to speak,

A time to love and a time to hate,
A time for war and a time for peace.
What does the worker gain from his toil?
I have seen the burden God has laid on men.

He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men, yet they can not fathom what God has done from the beginning to the end. I know there is nothing better for man than to be happy and to do good while they live. That everyone may eat and drink and find satisfaction in their toil, for this is the gift of God.”
