GO WHERE THE GOLD IS
We all earnestly want to go
To where the gold is, Every day we steer our lives To gain money for needs, Yes, we go where the
gold is!
Even a young person is a hunter Taught by parents to seek The treasure found physically
In the world that surrounds us, Yes, we go where the gold is!
When we are old we question Will our retirement funds last Until we kick the bucket and die? So we guard our pension fund,
Yes, we go where the gold is!
All this gold costs hours of work A striving for and then safeguarding,
A careful watch to preserve its use, Causing many pains and anguish, Yes, we go where the gold is!
If you ask most people where Is the finest pile of gold? And can they have some free?
Yes, gold free for the asking For I want gold without effort.
They will respond asking if you
Just arrived from the nut house, And walk away from you pronto! Yet, I know of such a gold
pile, And everyone can share its shine.
For if you ask a committed Christian, He will say,
I know where it is! It’s up in heaven and it is called Salvation via the cross of Jesus, Go
for the Golden realms of Heaven.
We care and plan so diligently But to the question of the afterlife
We freeze in a state of fearful fright, We say, I don't know of gold there, Some seek not the gold
of afterlife.
But for Christians death is a blessing For they go to live with Jesus Christ In
the beautiful land of Heaven, Death holds no fear other than The physical pain of going there.
It is interesting in that When you remove the “L” in gold And you have the word “God,”
our Creator, Let us seek the gold of God Given freely by Christ on the cross.

PREPARING FOR HEAVEN
Oh, the rocking chair and the back porch, What a duo are
they for a resting mind, The sky is so blue and sun is yellow bright, Yet the shade covers me like a shield.
In my quietude, I praise You, my God, For your majesty is beyond my mind, Your glory glitters like
a 1000 suns, And yet, you still care for little me.
How can I praise You enough? I am so awed
that my mind stops, All thoughts come to a sudden halt, And I sit bathing in Your grace.
It
was then that I thought of my sister, Lord, Sis has been gone 12 years, Wonder what she is doing in Heaven? Does she look down to watch me?
I miss her, my loving, caring sister. She was older and worried
about me, Especially about my old age and money, Lord, can she see that I'm doing well?
Lord,
someday I will see her again, When I come up to Heaven’s shores, We will sit and talk up a storm, She
will play the piano again.
Oh! To dance again with ease, All pains gone as my partner whirls, But better yet I will see Jesus In all His majesty and power.
And Mom, yes even Dad will be there,
Oh! To sit down again to talk with them, Lord, do they know of my later life? Lord, all this when I come
to Heaven.
Lord, remember my friends of many years, We loved each other, it hurts me To no longer
hear their wonderful voices, Lord, when I come I’ll hear them again.
I must stop this daydreaming
of hope, And again switch back to beautiful roses, But someday my rocking will stop, And my daydreaming
will be my new life.
