Oh sweet and wonderful baby Jesus
Laying swaddled on a bed of manager hay
I see you there in the picture of old
Yet I know that you are my
redeemer.
That God would love us so much to send You
And that You Jesus, willingly, came to us,
Quietly knowing someday you would die
Just the thought of this sparks my soul alive.
Yes, die for
me on the cross, a hard death,
Die cruelly for me and my neighbors' sins
You, that tiny babe so cute
and cuddly,
God incarnate come to earth to save us.
Mary and Joseph attended in quiet awe,
For first came the shepherds in kingly search,
Finding You, Jesus, they adored and praised,
As the angel sent by God bid them do.
Then came the wise
man from a far distance,
Gave honor and great gifts to King Jesus,
Could not Mary and Joseph not be struck
Looking at each other and wondering.
I cannot leave this picture before I ponder
Your great gift to us of Your life,
Oh thank
You, for coming to redeem us
Oh sweet and wonderful baby Jesus.
