I am but a child.
How can that be, says you,
Aren’t you 74 years old?
But
I respond,
Yes, it is so, and
I am a child of Jesus.
Like a 4 year old
In a strange place
Looks up
to his father,
By lifting his head up
And staring with awe,
So I am with Jesus.
I hold my 74 year old arm up
And look for Jesus
To grab a hold of my hand.
But unlike the
4 year old,
I can not see
The towering Jesus.
Then it is in a flash of a second,
That I remember the events
In my life where Jesus
Make Himself known to me,
As a living
caring spirit God.
Yes, I did not see Him
With my
open eyes
Yet remembering that happening
When I knew He
is real,
Alive and cares for me.
As my mind turns
To that event
I then remember
That I must have faith in Him.
Faith that He is
Holding my hand;
Believing that He
Is guiding my life.
And with that
faith
I do not need to worry,
Just do my best
And believe in Him.
To believe this way,
Then Jesus becomes for me,
The awesome father
That a 4 year
old child sees.
Jesus told us
To enter Heaven
We must have
The faith trust of a child.
With this faith trust
We can be any
Physical age, even
74
So I am a child of Jesus.
