This is a true story from my youth. My older sister was ten when she ran
into the kitchen from the yard for supper. She was late and that always irked Mom so Mom looked at her and said "Didn't
your brother, Ellis call you for supper?" To this Mary Ellen responded, "He called me," and after a slight
pause added in a soft voice, "but I didn't hear him." Over the years this has become a family story told
over and over again. Mary Ellen and Mom are in Heaven yet the story lives on. Could it be that God is calling you to
His service: Could you be saying, "Yes, God called me, but I didn't hear Him." Could it be an old story with
you that needs action? THE PROPHET SAMUEL CROWNS DAVID AS KING OF ISRAEL. WILL
GOD CROWN OTHERS FOR HIS WORK?
God crowned David. Does God
still crown persons? Why yes, everyday! He crowns persons to do special ministries for Him. Could you be crowned? Of course,
yes, and when crowned Jesus will send special cares and duties as David had when he ruled Israel.
With those
duties David received wisdom and strength of discernment that enabled him to carry out his kingship. You ask, "Will
God give me also wisdom and discernment and direction if He crowns me with a ministry. OH! yes, you will receive the
spiritual gifts and grace to do the job well.
In Heaven, we will praise our God but here on Earth,
we can also do ministry work for Him. Be his fingers, voices and feet. Praise God for His goodness to us. Our years
are so few here on Earth, so let us ask God to crown us with a ministry. What is your ministry? Have none? Ask
Jesus to give you a job by reading the poem to the right. SELECT WISELY YOUR WORK ! OUR SOCIETY IS TURNING TO EVIL PURSUITS. YES,
ACTING AS THOUGH GOD DOES NOT EXIST. FOR THOSE OF US WHO KNOW HE IS REAL THIS IS HARD FOR US TO HANDLE. SHOULD WE BE
CONCERNED? OH YES, BUT WE CAN NOT ASSUME THE BURDENS SUCH AS GOD HAS FOR ALL OUR SOCIETY ILLS. THEY ARE TOO BIG FOR US. TO
BE CONCERNED IS GOOD, BUT OUR TIME AND EFFORT SHOULD BE SPENT ON THE SPECIAL MINISTRIES JESUS GIVES US. THERE OUR JESUS LIGHT

CALL YOU?
LORD, LET ME HELP!

The fruits of our Lord,
But like on a tree
The fruit is out on the branches.
We have to leave
The safety of the trunk,
Walking the thin branches,
Trusting God for a sure foot.
We step out and the fruit is in reach,
We pick the fruit,
We eat it and are filled with joy,
What was empty wishing becomes reality.
We
could have stood
With arms clutched around the tree
With eyes gazing upward,
Saying
Lord, I'm hungry.
What is this fruit of Jesus,
Luring us to come out on the branches,
Filling us with a desire to eat
Yet unreachable as we grasp the trunk?
Why, its work
for Jesus!
Can't you hear His call
To reach out to the fellowship wayward?
Let us walk the branches together.
Whose fellowship is wayward?
Why, they are Christians,
Who claim they don't need
To go to church anymore.
They got themselves
In such a trap,
Jesus sends you and me
To bring them back.
We can
walk the branches alone,
Picking the fruit for Jesus.
But it would be more effective
If we had help from the ground.
Our local church is such a helper,
Without them, our
walk is risky,
But with support there will be fruit for all,
And the fellowship wayward will
come home. Read Acts 1:8; Romans 15 17-19;
