For Christmas Jesus Day 2011
Dear Jesus,

I write you a Christmas letter. For you see I know you can receive it. For it will bear the postmark of Heaven and travels via routes that are unknown to me. So with boldness combined with faith, well seasoned with trust, I continue.

First, I want to thank You for leaving Your crown - being born human—so that when it was all completed, the door to our Father would be open for me and others like me. Such a love as You have, surpasses my ability to understand. Please excuse the inadequate love I sent to you. But rest assured, it is sincere.

Secondly, I want to thank You for living in me spiritually. Replacing my old nature with its’ ugly desires, with a new nature filled with love for You and the desire to serve You.

Truly these two gifts are beyond price and You have given them to me. All praise be to my God on this blessed day. Thank you, Father for sending Jesus. For allowing the door to be opened to Your presence.

Thank you, Holy Spirit for guiding me, inspiring me.

It is my prayer on this blessed day; that you would equip me and allow me to serve You, so that on my deathbed, I will not cry tears of regret. Please help me to overcome the weaknesses in me that would block such a wonderful work for Your glory.

The Christmas duck is ready to be eaten so I must go.

JESUS WENT TO JERUSALEM TO PAY

THE PRICE ON THE CROSS FOR OUR SINS

FOREVER FREE

He rode into town and His praises were sung.
They all waived palm branches, the old and the young,
On the back of this colt rides the One who will save us.
God wants us free… that’s the message He gave us.

The disciples followed amidst all the throng
O Israelites cheering while he rode along.
“Could this be the plan?” They thought in accord.
"This army of folks will take Rome by the sword?”

“Will we lead the army that sets us all free?
Will this be His kingdom? I can’t wait to see!”
They started to think of a plan so grand
Of asking to sit at Christ’s right or left hand.

But later at dinner Christ’s message seemed odd.
He said He would soon be returning to God.
Christ knew that one of the twelve would betray Him.
The gears were in motion and none could delay them.

Christ went of His own free will out to the hill.
Tho He knew He’d suffer, He climbed up there still.
The curtain was torn in the temple that day.
We could enter God’s presence… Christ showed us the way.

The third day they went to His tomb just at dawn
And found it was empty… the Savior was gone.
But Jesus was a living and standing quite near.
He told Mary that she had nothing to fear.

He said, “Please don’t mourn because you know I died.
Rejoice and praise God that mankind’s justified.
Go and tell everyone all about me…
That death’s overcome and now you are free.”
